Two drivers pulled over by local law enforcement are facing charges in addition to the original reason for the stops.
Possession of Marijuana
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a New York City woman for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Sheriff’s Deputies report that on Sunday around 05:17pm they arrested Anjana Malhotra, 41, of New York City for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana following a traffic stop on State Route 96 in the Town of Waterloo.
Mahotra was stopped for Speeding, and was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for Speeding, and an Appearence Ticket for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Mahotra is scheduled to appear in Town of Waterloo Court on 03-10-2017 at 05:00pm
On Wednesday February 1, 2017 at 9:09 pm the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department arrested Darcey L. Semmel, age 36, of 1954 Hadden Rd Savannah, New York 13146 following a traffic stop on State Route 414. Semmel was originally stopped for speed in zone.
When officers checked Semmel’s license it was discovered that her license was revoked and had several suspensions. Semmel was arrested and charged with speed in zone and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree.
She was arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court and released on her own recognizance. Semmel is due back in court on March 2, 2017 at 5:00 pm.
