At around 11:42 today the Junius Fire Department, Magee Fire Department, and Waterloo Fire Department were dispatched to 1095 Donnelly Rd. in the Town of Junius for a structure fire. The owner of the home reported that flames were visible through the roof.
Seneca County Fire Coordinators were advised of the fire at the same time as the original dispatch. Units from Border City Fire department were dispatched to respond to the Junius Fire Department station 2 on Route 318 to set up and man a fill site for incoming fire department tankers. Tankers from Waterloo, Magee, Border City, Oaks Corners, Canoga, Fayette, Junius, and Savannah Fire Departments responded to bring water into the scene.
Clyde Fire department, out of Wayne County, was requested to respond to the scene with a full response per Fire Command at the scene. North Seneca Ambulance also responded and remains on the scene to provide medical coverage should it be needed.
Savannah Fire Department responded to the Magee Fire Department to provide standby duties. Oaks Corners Fire Department out of Ontario County responded to the Junius Fire departments route 318 station for standby. Also providing standby duties was the City of Geneva Fire Department (Ontario County). They stood by at the Border City Fire Department. Fayette Fire Department also responded into the Waterloo Fire Departments station to provide standby services for their district. The Varick Fire Department provided standby for Fayette Fire Department from their own station.
Waterloo Fire Department’s Rescue truck provided air for the firefighter’s SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) bottle refills at the scene of the fire.
At 13:15 Junius Fire Command called the fire under control. Fire units are reported to be conducting overhaul operations at this time. There have been no injuries reported.
At this time fire ground and tanker operations are ongoing and anyone traveling in the area should utilize caution.
