WATERLOO – The release of Bristol Mountain Bluegrass’s latest CD will be a benefit for American Red Cross in the Finger Lakes.
The event will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 22, at Seneca Falls Elks Lodge, 2221 River Road, Seneca Falls. Suggested donation at the door is $10 per person.
Band member Perry Cleaveland, who also is a board member of the Red Cross, said his group wanted do something good for the community. “We are really looking forward to sharing the joy of our music and helping those who do so much to help others.”
“We are grateful to Perry Cleaveland and his wonderful group of musicians who are using the event as a chance to raise funds to benefit our Red Cross,” said executive director Lynne Tyler. “We invite anyone who is a fan of great bluegrass music to join us for the event.’
In addition to the bluegrass music. The Elks bar will be available for snacks and refreshments. A 50-50 raffle and drawings for copies of the CD also will be held.
Members of the Bristol Mountain Bluegrass group include Norman C. Darling Sr on upright bass, the legendary Don Springer on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Rob Collins on five string banjo who has played on many stages including Ryman Auditorium, and Perry Cleaveland, a SAMMY Award winning mandolinist who also sings lead and harmony and plays fiddle. lead guitar and clawhammer banjo.
