A Romulus man received minor injuries and three traffic tickets after attempting to pass a car on a curve, losing control and hitting several trees.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports, on 06/21/2012 at about 7:16 PM Deputies investigated a Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Accident on South Cayuga Lake Road, Romulus, NY.
The driver, Michael A. McDonald, age 23, of 5374 SR 414. Romulus, NY was Westbound on South Cayuga Lake Road when he attempted to overtake another vehicle while on a bend in the road. McDonald lost control of the vehicle and struck multiple trees on the South side of the road. The vehicle came to rest on an embankment just before a large gully.
McDonald struck his head on the windshield which caused a minor cut. He refused medical treatment at the scene. Ovid Fire Department assisted with cutting down multiple trees so the vehicle could be pulled out of the wooded area.
McDonald was cited for Unsafe Speed, No Seatbelt, and Unsafe Passing. He is scheduled to appear at the Town of Romulus Court at a later date.
