The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail Wineathalon, set to coincide with the London Summer Olympics, will offer participants a chance to win a “Gold Medal Case” of wines to be presented at thend of the three weekends.
The event takes place over the course of 3 weekends, July 27-Aug 12, from 10am to 5pm. Sixteen participating wineries along the trail handing out buttons with every $30 wine purchase. The object is to collect all 16 buttons, or trade them along the way, to be eligible to win the Gold Medal Case of Wines offered at the end of the third weekend.
The first annual Cayuga Lakes Wine Trail Wineathalon mixes great wines with beautiful sights along Cayuga Lake. The event also recognizes the five Finger Lakes area athletes who will be participating in the Summer Olympics in London.
