ITT Goulds Pumps and unionized employees signed a five year agreement that went into effect over the weekend. The new contract was ratified by members of United Steelworkers International Local 3298 employees during a vote on Saturday morning.
Both sides say the new agreement offers improvements in wages, pensions, 401K, health care and other worker benefits. About 400 employees are covered under the terms of the contract, which allows health care provisions to be re-examined during the second year of the program. The negotiators say the re-opening will allow both sides to respond to possible changes in legislation.
Ron Golumbeck, VP and human resources director said the agreement, “Will provide stability and continuity and allow for continued growth at our New York location.”
Steelworkers Local President Mison La-Seigna said the agreement will help protect, “The time-honored tradition of American-Made products.”
