Area Residents Charged in Heroin Investigation

Mark S. Snyder, 52, of 11490 Route 31, Clyde, New York, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (Class B Felony) and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (Class B Felonies).

Amy L. Marro, 44, of 2841 Farron Road, Seneca Falls, New York, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (Class B Felony) and Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument (Class A Misdemeanor).

It is alleged that Snyder and Marro were in possession of fifty (50) individually packaged baggies of heroin after the vehicle the pair were in was stopped by Investigators in the Town of Junius.  Investigators. Also recovered eleven hypodermic needles/syringes and a quantity of United States currency.  It is further alleged that Snyder sold a narcotic drug to another person in January of 2013 in the Town of Seneca Falls.

Snyder was arraigned in the Lodi Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $20,000 cash bail/$40,000 secured bond.  Snyder is to reappear in the Lodi Town Court on March 6, 2013 at 11am.  Snyder is also wanted by the Irondequoit Police Department for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

Marro was also arraigned in the Lodi Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $2,500 cash bail/$5,000 secured bond.  Marro is to reappear in the Lodi Town Court on March 21, 2013 at 7pm.

The Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit was assisted at the scene by members of the New York State Police and the Sheriff’s Office Uniform Road Patrol.  Sheriff’s Narcotics Detector K-9 “Aken” assisted in the search of the vehicle.

An arrest is not a conviction and all are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
