The driver of car that ran into the front of the Nice and Easy store at the corner of Fall and Rumsey Street has been identified by the Seneca Falls Police.
The store re-opened at about 4pm yesterday after being closed since the incident for repairs to the damage caused when the vehicle driven by William H. VanDermortal, age 73 of 161 West Bayard Street, apartment 9 Seneca Falls crashed into the front of the building. VanDermortal was pulling into the parking lot of the Nice and Easy Convenience Store, located at 205 Fall Street, when it appears he may have hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal.
VanDeMortal was treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance. No one inside the store at the time of the accident was injured. Seneca Falls Fire Department and Seneca County Codes assisted at the scene.
