Seneca Falls – Dr. Larry D. Robertson, husband of Velvet and father of Zebedee, Shane and Keegan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (June 21, 2016) at Matthew House, Auburn, NY.
Family and friends may attend Larry’s Mass of Christian Burial on Friday (June 24) at 2 PM at St. Patrick’s Church, West Bayard Street, Seneca Falls, NY, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls, NY. There will be no calling hours.

Larry was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on January 11, 1952 the son of Bill & Helen Oglesby Robertson. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Plant Science from the Iowa State University in 1981. This was immediately followed by an internship at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics in Hyderabad, India, until 1983. Larry then worked as the curator of the Genebank at ICARDA, Aleppo, Syria for the next 16 years. During this period he was also transferred to Fez, Morocco, for two years. In 1998, Larry moved to Geneva, NY in the United States, where he worked as a Geneticist at USDA until his death.
Larry is survived by his wife, Velvet Flynn Robertson of Seneca Falls, NY
His 3 sons, Zebedee, Shane, Keegan of Seneca Falls, NY
His parents, Bill & Helen Oglesby Robertson of Tampa, Florida
His brother, Ron Robertson of Tampa, Florida
His sister, Marcia Hernandez of Tampa Florida
