Rose J. Lengyel Potondi, age 88, of Columbus, Ohio – formerly of Ashland, Ohio and Seneca Falls, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November, 12. Born on March 12, 1928 in Gonyu, Hungary. Graduate of Gyor School for Girls and Gyor Technical College. She began her career at an engineering firm as a statistician. Rose emigrated to the U.S. in 1957, where she held positions at Worthington Pumps and Goulds Pumps in the Engineering Department.
Later in life, she worked for many years in the retail industry. Rose was an outstanding cook and seamstress, and an avid bowler. She had a compassionate heart and a witty soul that inspired all who knew her. Rose will be remembered as a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Always kind and selfless in helping, caring and giving to others, her family was the center of her life.
Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Victor Potondi, parents Antal Lengyel and Maria Marosi Lengyel; brother Istvan and sister Mariska. Survived by loving children: John (Karen) Potondi, Mary (Glenn) Liebert. Grandchildren: Jason (Emily) Liebert, Melissa Liebert, Ashley Liebert and Mallory Potondi. Great- grandsons Ian, Cole and Bryce Liebert, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and many special friends.
