Jack Mose LaValley passed away March 2nd, 2017. He was born in Potsdam, NY September 20, 1945 to Helen Vincent LaValley and Stanley Hector LaValley. He resided in Seneca Falls, NY with his wife Jan L. Owen. Jack graduated from SUNY Potsdam and was a teacher in the Seneca Falls School District for 37 years.
A self proclaimed do-it-yourselfer, Jack had a never ending love of learning. He had a passion for the arts, music, writing and teaching children. He also loved acting and spent a summer working at the Sterling Renaissance Festival. He enjoyed playing and coaching hockey and recently rekindled his love of golf.
Jack loved his family dearly, had an infectious smile, a great spirit for life and will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him.
He is survived by his three children Erin LaValley Moser, Adrienne LaValley- Rietti, Bennett
James LaValley, two step-children Adrian Owen and Megan Dunning as well as 6 grandchildren: Chase, Jordyn, Bradley, Claira, Asa and Aya.
He is also survived by his two sisters Mary LaValley Strebel and Peg LaValley Hodgson, as well as two half brothers William Nethery and Tom Nethery.
Services will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Seneca Falls, NY Sunday March 5th, 2017 at 2pm.
