Waterloo – Donald Lawrence Elliott, 70, of 1422 W. River Rd., died Tuesday (April 17th, 2012) at home, with his loving family by his side.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday (April 20) and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday (April 21) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. Military honors being performed at 7 p.m. Friday (April 20) by members of Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion and Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday (April 21) at the funeral home. Rev. Ellen Donnan, pastor of Junius Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Green Cemetery in Romulus at the convenience of the family.

Donald was born Feb. 4, 1942 in Coventry, the son of Lawrence and May E. Poyer Elliott. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1960 to 1963. He worked at a number of businesses during his life, beginning with Sylvania in Seneca Falls, Denny Nolan’s Mobile Gas Station, Parrow’s Machine Shop, managing the Rotary Gas Station, owning and operating Don’s Garage. Dinsmore Diesel, Star Shaw AMC Dealership, manager of Caulkins Tires,Kingston’s Garage and Southern Auto. He was a member of Waterloo Memorial Post 6344, V.F.W. and Winnek Post 396, American Legion, in Geneva. He was a member of Finger Lakes Moose Club 823.
He is survived by his loving wife, whom he married May 9, 1964, Ida May Lerkins Elliott; sons, David (Kristine) Elliott of Port Byron, Paul Lawrence Elliot of Waterloo and Len (Tina) Carlsen of Lodi; daughters, Donna May (J. Scott) Smith of Waterloo and A. Kristine Carlsen of Seneca Falls; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Elliott of Texas; sisters, Barbara (Max) Brenner of Whittset, N. C. and Beverly of Georgia; many nieces and nephews.
