Waterloo: Gail Velte, 60, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, June 30, 2011 at her home.
Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, July 3 from 4 – 7 PM at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A funeral service will be Monday, July 4 at 10:00 AM at funeral home. Rev. Phil Tennis will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Gail’s family request memorial contributions be directed to, Second Chance Dog Rescue, 804 Stone Church Road, Waterloo, NY 13165 or a charity of ones choice.
Gail was born on June 18, 1951 in Canandaigua the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel Cripps-Pulver. She grew up in Stanley and was a 1969 graduate of Marcus Whitman High School. After high school Gail worked in the restaurant business for a few years, primarily at Kellogg’s Pan Tree Inn in Canandaigua. After that, she found her calling, working for about 25 years in the floral business with her close friend Bonnie Hosford, of Hosford’s Flowers shop in Waterloo. Gail’s great pride and joy was her family. Spending time with flowers and animals were the things that made her the happiest. Gail will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Robert; three daughters, Kimberly (Guy) Mosher, Kelly Hilkert both of Waterloo and Courtney (Jason) Hurdle of Geneva; grandchildren, Amber, Brandy and Ceana Mosher, Christopher and Kayla Hilkert and Taylor and Madecyn Hurdle; her sister, Elaine (Carl) Mallaber of New Hampshire; a brother-in-law, George Hinchman of Lyons; sister-in-laws, Lisa Pulver of Geneva and Karen (John) O’Brien of Waterloo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Jane Hinchman and Louise Miles; her twin brother, Dale “Fess” Pulver.
