Geneva, NY –Dar Williams has been called “one of America’s very best singer-songwriters†by The New Yorker. She brings her raw acoustic energy to Ravines Wine Cellars as part of the Jan Regan Smith Club Series on Friday, October 20 at 8 p.m.
Door will open at 7 p.m. Ravines will offer wines and a bar menu including cheeses, a charcuterie board and vegetable trays available for purchase.
Williams has released 10 studio albums and authored four books including her just released collection, What I Found In A Thousand Towns, which includes an entire chapter on her travels in the Finger Lakes region. The book will be for sale at the concert.
Known as much for her staunch progressive ideals as her music, Williams has been captivating audiences with her sheer elegance and honesty in her folk-pop songwriting since the 1990s. (She took part in the 1997 Lilith Fair concert tour/festival.) Williams’ growth as an individual over her two-decade-long career has gone hand-in-hand with her evolution as an artist, touring with such distinguished peers as Joan Baez, Patty Griffin, Ani DiFranco, Loudon Wainwright III, and Shawn Colvin.
Williams’ most recent album, Emerald, “deals as bluntly as ever with the shadowy, subtle corners of humanity†according to Rolling Stone, and was recorded with friends such as Richard Thompson, Jill Sobule, Jim Lauderdale, the Milk Carton Kids, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Suzzy Roche, The Hooters and others in various studios across the United States.
This intimate concert takes place at Ravines Wine Cellars, 400 Barracks Road, Geneva. Seating is limited.
VIP ticket holders are invited to a 30-minute Meet & Greet with Williams at the winery starting at 7 p.m. The price of the VIP  ticket also includes a signed copy of new book, What I Found In A Thousand Towns.
