Romulus - Alfred George Heitmann, 75, of 4905 St. Rt. 96, Romulus, died Wednesday (Jan. 11, 2012) at Living Center South Geneva, with his family by his side.
Friends may call from 2:00pm - 5:00pm Saturday (Jan. 14, 2012), at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo. The funeral service will be 2:00pm Sunday (Jan. 15) at the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Luscombe, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Geneva, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Green Cemetery in Romulus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the organization of one’s choice.
Alfred was born March 2, 1936 in Waterloo, the son of Carl and Martha Olsowske Heitmann. He was a 1954 graduate of Romulus High School. He owned and operated his farm known as Wenoka Farms in Varick for many years. He was also a former employee of Seneca County and the towns of Fayette and Varick. He was a member of Seneca Falls Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 992, Seneca County Farm Bureau, and New York State Corn and Soybean Association. He was a member of Future Farmers of America and the Holstein Association. He was also a life member of Zion Lutheran Church in Geneva.
He played basketball for Romulus Central School and Romulus Basketball Town Team. He enjoyed attending and dancing at October Festivals. He was an avid traveler, traveling throughout the United States and other countries.
