Lodi/Clyde - Angelo Francisco Figueroa, Sr., 83, of Clyde, formerly of Lodi, died Monday (October 22, 2012) at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends may call 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 24) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo. The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m.Thursday (Oct. 25) at Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. Rev. James Fennessy, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, will officiate.

Angelo was born Feb. 5, 1929 in Catano, Puerto Rico, the son of Simona Figueroa. He was a young man when he moved to New York City from Puerto Rico to find employment. Eventually, he and a group of friends moved from NYC to Ely, Nevada to work in the copper mines. Later he moved back to New York to settle in the Finger Lakes region. He was then employed in 1953 with Seneca Army Depot where he worked in many capacities, until he retired. While working at the depot he served as both a leader and supervisor in the ammunition maintenance and storage fields, for many years. He was a long time resident of Lodi. He was an active member of the Lodi Volunteer Fire Dept. Angelo enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing, billiards, darts, and carpentry.
He is survived by son: Angelo (Annette) Figueroa of Tracy, Calif.; daughters:Lilly Mateo, Nellie Larsen, and Teresa (Roger) Figueroa- Lippert all of Clyde, Kathaleen Figueroa of Geneva, Sandra Figueroa of Ft. Myers, Patricia (Thomas) Boccacci of Honeoye, Bonnie (Harvey Goldberger) Kelly of Newtown, PA; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one daughter: Angela Jackson; and one grandson, Ignacio Ronald Mateo, III.
