Seneca Falls – Assunta “Santa” Caroline Turri, formerly of Seneca Falls, NY, died Thursday (August 25, 2016) at Friendly Home, Rochester, NY.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls on Monday (August 29) from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM at the funeral home, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165 or to the Friendly Home, 3156 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14610.
Santa was born in Seneca Falls, NY on April 6, 1919, the daughter of the late Sylvester & Caroline Lippa Faiola. She had resided in Seneca Falls on Mynderse Street for most of her life before moving to Rochester in 2009. She had been employed by the medical office of David Koch MD years back as a medical assistant for over 20 years. She, also, had worked as Surrogate Court Clerk of Seneca County. Santa was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls & the S.M.S. Auxiliary of which she was the oldest living member. Santa, loved to prepare home cooked meals on Sundays and Holidays for her immediate & extended family. Perhaps, she was proudest of her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren.

3 sons – William (Linda) Turri – Rochester, NY
Joseph (Kathryn) Turri – Rochester, NY
Louis (Julie) Turri – Seneca Falls, NY
8 grandchildren – Joseph, Jackie, Steven, Jennifer, Jeff, Matt, Michael, & Caroline
10 great grandchildren
3 sisters – Agnes (Angelo) Bonafiglia – Seneca Falls, NY
Mary Southerland – Seneca Falls, NY
Philomena (Wally) Winter - Ohio
3 brothers– Sylvester (Elisa) Faiola – Seneca Falls, NY
Benny (Ann) Faiola – Seneca Falls, NY
Louis (Mary Lynn) Faiola – Florida
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews of which many were like her own children or grandchildren; a special thanks to niece Linda Faiola, whose weekly visits helped maintain her love for Seneca Falls.
In addition to her parents, Santa was predeceased by her husband, Louis “Gigi” A. Turri Sr., who died in 1978. She also was predeceased by 1 sister, Rose Faiola & 3 brothers, Anthony, Michael, & Kenneth Faiola.
