Denise Marie (Reardon), 73, passed away March 5, 2014 at Geneva General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Family and friends may attend Denise’s Mass of Christian burial on Monday (March 10) at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 97 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Spring burial will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. In honoring Denise’s wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Patrick’s Church, 97 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY 13148, the House of Concern, 35 State St., Seneca Falls, NY 13148 or Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165.

Denise was born on September 28, 1940 in Seneca Falls to William and Margaret Conolly Reardon. Denise graduated from Mynderse Academy, she attended Nazareth College and then worked at Goulds Pumps before getting married and starting a family. Denise returned to work at the Seneca Falls Savings Bank where she worked for more than 20 years before retiring in 2004. Denise was also active in the community serving on the Auxiliary of the Seneca Falls Little League, as a Brownie Troop leader and on the St. Patrick’s School Board.

Denise married her husband James, on November 19, 1960. Denise and Jim had six children in ten years and Denise said that is just how she wanted it, a big family to fill the house. Denise’s greatest joy was being a grandmother to her fifteen grandchildren. Her face lit up when they came into the house or when she heard a funny story about something they did. Denise loved to bake and at Thanksgiving and Christmas the house was always filled with wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen. The tables overflowed with pies and cookies. Her grandchildren will fondly remember that at Christmas time cookies were for breakfast at Grandma’s house.

Denise is survived by her husband of 53 years James. She will be lovingly remembered by her children

and Mary (Terry) Clifton.
Fifteen grandchildren: Samantha, Matthew, Stephen, Kevin, Meg, Jack, Grace, David, Michael, Connor, Sarah, Marissa, Kiley, Jason and Jeremy.
She is also survived by her sister Joan (Raymond) Slawiak and sister-in-laws Joan Allbright, Betty (Charles) Price, Margaret Smith and brothers-in-law Jack (Linda) and Edward O’Connor.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Denise was predeceased by her sister Margaret Reardon and brothers James and William Reardon.
