Cayuga/Seneca Falls – Erwin K. “Red” Gwyn, 77, of Route 90 North, Cayuga, NY, formerly of Ovid St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Friday (February 24, 2012) at Auburn Community Hospital, Auburn, NY.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Tuesday (February 28) from 4 -7 PM followed by a funeral service at 7 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Stephen Beals, Pastor of West Fayette Presbyterian Church, Town of Varick, NY, officiating. Burial will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls, at the convenience of the family. If desired, contribution may be made to the Kirk-Casey Post #366 American Legion, 48 State St., Seneca Falls, NY 13148.
The Seneca Falls Elks Lodge will conduct an Elks service at the funeral home on Tuesday evening (February 28) at 6:30 PM and the Seneca Falls Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the funeral home on Tuesday evening (February 28) at 6:45 PM.
“Red” was born in Fairmount, West Virginia on August 29, 1934 the son of the late George and Phyllis Burner Gwyn. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was retired from Gould’s Pumps of Seneca Falls. He had been residing in Cayuga, NY for the past 12 years, moving there from Seneca Falls. He was a member and past commander of the Kirk-Casey Post #366 American Legion, Seneca Falls. He was a member of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992. “Red” was an avid golfer who over the years organized and ran many of the golf tournaments of the Kirk-Casey Post American Legion. He also was a big Syracuse Basketball Fan and an avid Yankee Fan.

In addition to his parents, “Red” was predeceased by his wife, Kathryn M. Gwyn who died October 24, 1997
