Georgina F. Fornesi (“George”), 89, formerly of Ridge St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Friday (August 16, 2013) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY.
Family and friends may attend funeral services for Georgina on Saturday (August 31) at 10 AM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY, with Reverend James Fennessy, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls, NY. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, c/o St. Patrick’s Church Office, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165.
Arrangements are under the direction of Doran Funeral Home, Seneca Falls, NY.
Georgina’s family and friends would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Huntington Living Center for the wonderful care she received and a special thank you from Georgina’s family to Nancy Cordovani for the friendship and care giving she gave Georgiana over the years, and beyond the call of duty.
Georgina was born in Seneca Falls on June 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank & Delta Ballinger Fornesi. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls. Her grandfather was Charles Fornesi, the first Italian to come to Seneca Falls and builder of the Seneca Theater.
Georgina earned a Bachelor of Education from State Teachers College at Geneseo and a Master of Science from Syracuse University. Georgina also studied geology, which was one of her passions. She retired, as a teacher from the Cazenovia Central School System. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.), the Sa-Go-Ya-Wat-Ha chapter, and the Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by:

Anita (Joseph) Szymanski – Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania
1 brother-in-law: John Kerr – Saegertown, Pennsylvania
2 cousins: Tom (Teresa) Fornesi – Grand Blanc, Michigan
Bob (Rita) Fornesi – Claremont, California
A close friend: Nancy Cordovani – Waterloo
In addition to her parents, Georgina was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Kerr and a niece, Dr. Margaret Kerr.
