Gladys M. Bonacchi, age 94 of Geneva, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva, N.Y.
There will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 45 Center Street Waterloo, N.Y. at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made, in her memory, to The Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 West River Rd. Waterloo, N.Y. 13165.
Gladys was born in Chelmsford, England on February 9, 1921. She is the daughter of the late Sydney and Lillian Westwood Radford. She came to the United States in 1946 to be with her husband after World War II. In 1955, she became a United States Citizen. Gladys was employed by Sylvania in Seneca Falls, N.Y. for several years. Gladys enjoyed knitting, playing Bingo, going to the casinos, and gardening. She adored her cat Sue Sue. Gladys loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by her two daughters, Angelina Midiri of Geneva and Maureen (Daniel) Higgins of Geneva; four grandchildren, Patrick (Janica) Midiri of Massachusetts, Joseph Midiri of Geneva, Theresa (Jim) Laird of Waterloo and Timothy Higgins (Dana Justino) of Geneva; five great grandchildren, Hailea Higgins, Nicola Midiri, Christina, Allison and Olivia Laird; cat Sue Sue; two sisters, Greta (Willis) Hage, Gill (Noel) Herrera; two brothers, James (Paula) Radford, Charles Radford. She was predeceased by Carmen J. Bonacchi; three sisters Grace, Gert, and Gwen; son in law Joseph Midiri.
