Gladys had recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and fiends. She married the late Sylvester Deal Saunders in 1945. Sylvester and Gladys raised five children on their ever expanding dairy farm. Gladys kept books, fed calves, performed a long list of chores, but always found time to be our loving mother. Her cakes, cookies, and pies rarely cooled from the oven before they were eaten.
After retirement, Gladys enjoyed travel to visit family, flower gardening, and cutting grass on her large yard. She was always busy with friends and family. Gladys was thrilled with the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She learned to use her ipad at age 88, kept up with everyone on Facebook, and loved the challenge of playing Words with Friends. She regularly attended Tyre Reformed Church, and she spent many days volunteering at the Reformed Church Food Pantry.
Gladys is survived by five children: Ed (Ann) Saunders of Mead, Colorado, Nancy (Phil) Long of Geneva, Leslie (Melanie) Saunders, of Smith Grove, Kentucky, Bradley (Nancy) Saunders of Herkimer and Carl (Fran) Saunders of Tyre. She is survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Arrangement are being handled by the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc. 32 State St. Seneca Falls, NY.
