Seneca Falls – Joanne L. Zona, 68, of Maple St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Sunday (February 9, 2014) at her residence.

Family and friends may attend Joanne’s Memorial Mass on Saturday (February 15) at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls, in the spring. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to Pathway Home (Hospice House), P. O. Joanne was born in Waterloo, NY on August 17, 1945, the daughter of the late Joseph & Nancy Altimari Zona Sr. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls and a 1963 graduate of Mynderse Academy. She was retired from Frank E. Luellen Insurance Co of Rochester, NY where she was a commercial lines account representative. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls. Joanne loved to care for her garden at home and was a kind and compassionate caregiver to her family and friends.

She is survived by:
1 sister –June (Joseph) Petrocci – Seneca Falls, NY
1 brother – David (Maggie) Zona – Largo, Florida
Her nieces and nephews – Shannon & Dana Zona, Ann Johnson, Michael (Christine) Petrocci, & Jeffrey (Sarah) Petrocci. Along with her great nieces and nephews – Blake, Natalie, Nora, Luca, Landon, and Jeramy.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her sister, Gigi Snyder, who died July 28, 2003 and her brother, Joseph Zona Jr. who died November 14, 2007.
