Seneca Falls – Joseph Valentine Perdicho, 85, of Shamrock Ave., Seneca Falls, NY, died Wednesday (July 25, 2012) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Monday (July 30) from 2 to 5:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 5:30 PM at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Committal services, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday (July 31) at 11:30 AM at St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls.

Joe was born February 14, 1927 in Seneca Falls the son of Francesco & Angeline Danelo Perdicho. He lived in Seneca Falls all his life. He went to Mynderse Academy where he left in his Senior Year to join the Navy. He served from December 1944 to April of 1946. He served on the ship the U.S. S. Whitney AD4 and was a gunner on a Higgins Boat in the Philippines. He served in the Navy as a Seaman’s 2nd Class. He married Mary W. Schwartz on November 18, 1950 in St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale, NY. He worked for Geb & Souhan for more than 40 years, starting out as a bobbin boy and working his way up to the trouble shooter for the company. He then worked at Seneca Knit until he retired in 1989. He took courses at Lincoln Extension Institute. He was an end man in the Rotary Minstrels for many years (40’s & 50”s). He was an avid bowler for the American Legion. He worked for Calarco Bakery on Sunday. He loved to sing, cook, & bake. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was an Honorary Member of the S.M.S.

In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by 1 brother, Sam Perdicho, 3 sisters, Elizabeth Ezzo, Vinnie Hess, & Frances Mahoney, 2 nieces, Antoinette Perdicho & Angeline Jensen and 2 nephews, Frank & Sam Perdicho, and 1 great nephew, Jim DeCesare.
