Waterloo - June Elizabeth Poormon, 83, of 3006 Yost Rd., died Wednesday (June 6, 2012) at Living Center North in Geneva.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday (June 10) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday (June 11) at the funeral home. The Rev. Karen Heit, pastor of Rose United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Fayette Rural Cemetery in Fayette.

June was born February 5, 1929 in Seneca Falls, the daughter of Harry and Anna Messerschmidt McMillen. She was a 1946 graduate of Mynderse Academy. She assisted her husband in operating their family farm, until they sold the farm in 1991. She was a lifelong member of the Waterloo Sportsmens Club Women’s Auxiliary. For many years, she was a bookkeeper for the Seneca County Fair. She was a charter member of the New York Pork Council of Women and also assistant swine superintendent for the New York State Fair for many years. She and her husband traveled extensively showed their registered pigs.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, whom she married August 3, 1946, Leroy J. Poormon; son, Michael L. (Arlene) Poorman, of Waterloo; daughters, Patricia (LeRoy) Yates of North Rose and Ellen (Erwin) Ten Eyck of Waterloo; grandchildren, Jerome Yates, Jason (Becky) TenEyck, Allan (Keri) Yates, Colleen Poormon, Robert (Denise) Poormon, Michael (Charity) Yates, Jennifer (Randy) Gardner and Heather (Brad) Queor; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Kristofer, Kevin, Hunter, Brandon, Kyle, Logan, Hanna, Rylan, Roy, Ty, Zoey, Danica, Danielle, Troy, Dexter and Renee.
