Lois E. Jackson
Geneva - Lois E. Jackson, 64, of 571 Castle Street, formerly of Ovid, died unexpectedly Tuesday (March 27, 2012) at home.
Friends may call from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Saturday (March 31) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday (March 31) at the funeral home. Rev. Ellen Donnan, pastor of Junius Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of one’s choice.
Lois was born November 1, 1947 in Ithaca, the daughter of Merrit Hodge and Harriette Simpson Monroe. She was an employee with Finger Lakes DDSO for twenty-five years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Ovid American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and the outdoors. She had many wonderful friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Kaufman Yonker of Geneva; four stepsons, Michael Jackson of Interlaken, Steven Jackson of Lodi, Timothy (Tina) Jackson of Vero Beach, FL, and Kevin (Carol) Jackson of Ovid; one step-daughter, Linda (Jeff) Rozelle of Trumansburg; six grandchildren, Merideth Graf, Elizabeth Yonker, Nikki, Becky, Kelly, and Kyle Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Jada, Makayala, Josh, and Michael; three brothers, Lawrence Hodge of Seneca Falls, Lyle Hodge of PA, and Larry Hodge of TX; three sisters, Loretta Smith of Cortland, Lorna (Buck) Hathaway of Dundee and Linda (Paul) Ruthbun of Trumansburg; special friends, Buddy, Rob, Wanda, Wanna; and sadly missed by her dog, Sparky.
She was predeceased by her husband of 19 years, Alfred “Pete” Jackson, one step-son, Brian Jackson; two sisters, Leola Young and Lelabelle Hodge.
That was a great woman she will be forever missed and she will always be in our hearts and dreams. Make sure u take care of grandpa also a great man that will be truly missed by all that knew them.my grandpa was the man u got to know and love no matter if ur family or not.I am thankful for the time I have spent with him and wish I had more time to spend with him.I am also thankful for the time I spent with grandma too.may god rest ur souls and u guys watch after each other with love and peace.
