Waterloo – Louis A. Van Cleef II, 45, of W. Main St., Waterloo, NY, died, unexpectedly, Saturday (October 25, 2014) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Tuesday (October 28) from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (October 29) at 11 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, Seneca Falls, NY with Reverend Polly Kasey officiating. Lou was born in Geneva, NY on October 6, 1969 the son of Louis & Sandra Cook
Van Cleef. He had resided in the Waterloo – Seneca Falls area for most of his life. He had attended Corning Community College and was a graduate of Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy in Corning, NY. He was retired from the Seneca County Sheriff’s Department where he was an Investigator Sergeant.
Lou was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Seneca Falls, NY. He participated in the search and rescue at the World Trade Center during the aftermath of 911. He was a highly decorated police officer receiving honors as officer of the year, DWI officer of the year, & Seneca County Employee of the year. He had been active in youth sports in Waterloo and Seneca Falls, including baseball and football. Lou loved his sports, especially the Washington Redskins, the New York Yankees, & Syracuse Basketball.
