Louis Smith

Seneca Falls – Louis C. Smith, 78, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, formerly of Seneca Falls, NY, died Monday (July 7, 2014) at his residence in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Family and friends may attend his “Graveside Goodbye”, with military honors, on Saturday (July 19) at 11:30 AM at Springbrook Cemetery, Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, NY. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165.

Louis was born in Seneca Falls on December 25, 1935 the son of the late Harry and Elvira Swinehart Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served from 1955-1958. He was retired from the Oceana Naval Base VA. He had been residing in North Carolina for the past 21 years. He was a former member of the Warner – VanRiper Post #435 American Legion of Waterloo, N.Y., also a Life Honorary Member at the Waterloo Fire Department.

He is survived by:

Brenda L. (Scott) Smith-Stone – Waterloo, NY
1 Son – Ronald J. A. Smith – Virginia Beach, Virginia
7 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren
3 Brothers – Emerson Smith – Seneca Falls, NY
Robert (Valera) Smith – Seneca Falls, NY
Harry (Sandy) Smith Jr. – Texas
Several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Louis was predeceased by his son, Carl Smith, his Great Grandson, Xayden Stone, and 2 brothers, John “Beanie” Smith & Lawrence “Hank” Smith and his sister-in-law, Rose Smith.
