Seneca Falls – Marie D. Sassano, 81, of Meadow St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away Sunday (April 1, 2012) at her residence with her loving and adoring family at her side.

Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Wednesday (April 4) from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (April 5) at 9:15 AM at the funeral home and at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. Marie was born in Syracuse, NY on October 19, 1930 the daughter of the late Anthony and Angeline LaGrasta Mirizio. She had resided in Seneca Falls since 1932, moving from Syracuse, NY. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, the Mother’s Circle of St. Patrick’s Church, & the Knights of Columbus Council #222 Auxiliary. She was active in the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992 and in SMS Bocce. She was a member of the P & S Social Club and an early member of the Right to Life organization.

She is survived by:
Her husband of 60yers, Carl A. Sassano of Seneca Falls, whom she married on November 17, 1951
1 daughter – Cynthia (Greg) Brown – Waterloo, NY
2 sons – Anthony Sassano and Neil Sassano, both of Seneca Falls, NY
3 grandchildren – Lisa, Kevin and David Brown
1 brother – Conrad (Edna) Mirizio – Liverpool, NY
