Mary A Didona, 97, a lifetime resident of Seneca Falls, NY died Tuesday, March 3rd at Geneva General Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Funeral services and burial in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls, NY will be at a date and time to be announced in the spring. There will be no prior calling hours. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Daughter of Phillip Marsella and Anna Marrapese Marino, she was born and raised in Seneca Falls and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.
In her younger years, she worked at Guaranteed Parts and married James Didona September 11, 1937.
Mary’s home was the center of family activities. Every Monday night she would prepare delicious meals for all to enjoy. She believed in daily walks, weekly church attendance, good housekeeping, regular medical checkups and most important, a healthy diet of greens and beans.
She had a passion for dancing but also enjoyed “her music” - Frank Sinatra. Her true passion was her pride in her flower garden. Mary could make anything grow.
Mary was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nothing was more important to her than her family.
She will be missed by her daughters: Donna (John) Brady & Judith (Joseph) McMahon of Seneca Falls. Five grandchildren: Noreen (Peter) Perine of Seneca Falls, John (Virginia) Brady of Fairport and Kara (Derek) Milianta of Little Falls, NY: Janel (Mike Rel) McMahon of California and Julie (Emanuel) Todorov of Florida. Ten great-grandchildren: Meredith and Gretchen Perine; Morgan, Lauren and Jack Brady; Derek, James and Max Milianta; Gianna and Alexander Todorov. Her special nieces, Virginia Vose & Paula Pasqualicchio, and several additional nieces, nephews, & first cousins.
Mary was predeceased by husband, James, in 1993; father, mother, Anthony Marsella (brother), Helen Miller & Gina Kierst (sisters) and Stephen DeRosa (nephew).
