Waterloo-Mary Alice (Mame) Dinan, 85, of W. Williams St. Waterloo, passed away on Wednesday, (Sept. 17, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Family and friends may call at The Doran Funeral Home, 30 Center St. Waterloo, NY, on Sunday, (Sept. 21, 2014) from 1:00PM to 3:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Mary Alice’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, (Sept.22, 2014) at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Center St., Waterloo, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waterloo. Contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church Cross Restoration Fund, 25 Center St. Waterloo, NY.
Mary Alice was born on February 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Edward and Cecilia Pease Smith. She graduated from Waterloo High School and was a lifelong resident of Waterloo. Mary Alice married Robert Dinan on August 30, 1952, celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary this year. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church. For many years Mary Alice focused her time and energy on raising her family. When the kids were in school she felt blessed to take the job of Secretary for St. Mary’s parish where she worked for 27 years. She enjoyed working with the various priests that she worked under. Mary Alice was a member of the St. Mary’s Rosary Altar Society. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to visit family and be with her friends.

12 – Grandchildren- Joshua (Kelly) Dinan, Erin and Kevin Dinan, Lindsay (Stephen) Willson, Andrew (Amanda Wild) Armitage, Philip Armitage, Shannon (Kevin DeLong) Dinan, Caitlin (Michael Montagnola) Dinan, Kathleen Dinan, Kyle, Kaili, and Shane Collins.
2-Great Grandchildren- Katie Dinan and Lucy Willson
Many nieces and nephews also survive Mary Alice.
