Newark/Seneca Falls - Mary F. (Sinicropi) Passalacqua, 84, of Church Street, Newark, NY and formerly of Seneca Falls and Clifton Springs, NY, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 following a brief illness.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard Street, Seneca Falls, on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 11AM to 12 Noon followed by a memorial service at the funeral home at 12 noon. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Mary was born in Seneca Falls on October 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Marco and Anna (Ezzo) Sinicropi. She had resided in Newark for 10 years, previously living in Waterloo, Clifton Springs and Seneca Falls.
Mary’s family was important to her. She enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings. She was often referred to as “Aunt Mary Buffet” by her nieces and nephews. Cooking was her passion and many of her recipes have been gladly received and used by at least two generations! She was an avid card player and no game was ever complete without her amusing antics making each game memorable for all who played. Mary will be forever remembered for her generosity, quick wit and her deep pride in her heritage. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.
She is survived by daughters Ann Marie (Steven) VandeMortel and Toni Marie (Chris) Avery of Newark, NY and son Francis (Kathy) Passalacqua of Longview, Texas; grandsons Alex and Nolan Avery of Newark, Santino Passalacqua, of Dallas, TX and Michael (Jessica) Passalacqua of Chattannooga TN; granddaughters Nicole Myles, Regina (Chris) Deslatte and Christina (Craig) Little of Longview, TX; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Mark (June) Sinicropi and Dominic (Dorothy) Sinicropi, both from Seneca Falls and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Anthony J. Passalacqua, whom she married on April 3rd, 1948, who died on March 22nd, 2008, as well as three brothers, Joseph, Gabriel and Louis Sinicropi.
