Seneca Falls – Richard “Richie” L. Bennett, 20, of Gravel Rd., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday (August 27, 2016) at his home with his family at his side.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Thursday (September 1) from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday (September 2) at 10 AM at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial, with fireman honors, will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. The family wishes contributions, in memory of Richard, be made to Magee Fire Department, 1807 Route 318, Seneca Falls, NY 13148 or to Seneca-Cayuga ARC, 1083 Waterloo-Geneva Rd., Waterloo, NY 13165 for the wheelchair van.
Richie was born in Geneva, NY on December 6, 1995 the son of Richard and Robin Gilbo Bennett. He was a life resident of Seneca Falls and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls. Richie was an active member of the Magee Fire Department and was given, in his honor, the assistant chief helmet #964. He was not only dedicated to his fire department, he loved Magee Fire Department. He had perfect attendance for all fire department meetings and was there every Monday night for training. Richie was an inspiration to all the firefighters at Magee Fire Department and to those firefighters throughout the area whose lives he has touched. He also had been involved in many of the activities offered by the Seneca-Cayuga A.R.C. Richie loved people and people loved him. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Robin Gilbo Bennett of Seneca Falls.
