Waterloo - Robert “Bob” Lee Main, 75, of 2523 Kingdom Road, died Tuesday (February 28, 2012) at Geneva General Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday (March 1) at Waterloo Baptist Church. Rev. David Underwood, pastor, will officiate. The church will be open at 6 p.m. for pre-service gathering. Burial will be in the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Nottingham, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Waterloo Baptist Church, 2701 State Route 96, P.O. Box 108, Waterloo 13165 or the Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Road, Waterloo 13165.
Bob was born May 23, 1936 in Creston, North Carolina, the son of the late Letcher and Mamie Eldreth Main. He graduated from Oxford High School in Oxford, PA. He was an entrepreneur at heart and was known for the Tally-Ho Trading Post. He loved blue grass music, race horses, and his champion beagles that had won Purina Awards. He had a wonderful love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and every one he knew. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two sons: Gary Main of Oxford, PA and Scott Main of Waterloo; one daughter: Donna (Timothy) McDonald of Marietta, GA; one brother: Fred Main of Oxford; two sisters: Lucille Campbell and Ruby Mentzer both of Nottingham, PA; three grandchildren: Megan (Michael) Rutt, Lauren (Bobby) McKinney and Carly McDonald; three great-grandchildren: Isabella Rutt, Chase Rutt and Shawn McKinney; many nieces and nephews; ex-wife and dear friend: Ida Mae Main of Oxford, PA; and long time employee and dear family friend: Anna Lathrop of Waterloo.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Clyde, Jim, and Roger Main.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo.
