Waterloo - Robert E. Geraghty, 83 of Iroquois Lane, passed away Saturday February 25, 2012 at Clifton Springs Hospital. Family and friends may call Thursday (03-01-12) from 3-7pm at the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc. 32 State St. Seneca Falls. The Pocahontas Masonic Lodge #211 F&AM will conduct services at 7pm. Funeral service will be Friday (03-02-12) 11am at the funeral home with Rev. Leah Ntuala, Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Brook Cemetery, Seneca Falls. Bob was born in Seneca Falls October 27, 1928 the son of Thomas G. and Nettie Schoonover Geraghty and lived most all of his life in the Seneca Falls area. Graduated from Mynderse Academy, class of 1946 and also a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. Bob married Betty Leno on July 13, 1952 and they would have celebrated their 60 th anniversary this year. Served his country in the Army from 1952 to 1954 which included a tour of Japan. He received the National Defense Service Medal. He retired as a Project Engineer for Goulds Pumps in 1990 after 30 years of service.
A member of the Korean War Veterans, the Kirk Casey American Legion Post #366, Seneca Falls, Pocahantas Masonic Lodge #211 F&AM, where he was twice Past Master as well as Secretary. Member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls. A lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Bob also delivered Meals on Wheels.
Survived by his wife Betty Leno Geraghty , daughters: Kathleen (Pete) Keefer, Seneca Falls, Maureen (David) Conley, Virginia Beach. Two sons: Timothy Geraghty, Seneca Falls and Steven Geraghty of Texas. Four grandchildren: Christopher Keefer, Michelle G.(Don Trout) Geraghty, Erin Conley and Matthew Conley. A great grandson, Zion Trout and several nieces. Predeceased by a brother, Patrick Geraghty in 2005.
