Roberta M. Plummer, 82, of Rt. 414. passed away April 24, 2012 at the Huntington Living Center in Waterloo. A celebration of Roberta’s life will be Thursday 05-03-12 at the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls at 11am with Rev. Leah Ntuala officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Brook Cemetery. She was born in S. Granville, NY, the daughter of Newton J. and Mary Irene Dillon Shaw on May 9, 1929. Roberta married Philip G. Plummer in July of 1958 and in 1959 moved to Seneca Falls and they have lived here since that time. She was member of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls, where she was a choir member for 50 years and a charter member of the Church Bell Choir.
She was very active in the Seneca Community Players as an actress and designed and made costumes. She formed a group called the Happy Tappers and performed at the Senior Follies. Roberta sang in the Red Jacket Chorale and the Senior Singers. In 2006 she was awarded the Seneca County Senior Citizen Award. She also taught a craft class at the Senior Citizen Center in Waterloo. She was employed by B.O.C.E.S. as a teacher’s aide and worked in several schools in the area for over 23 years.
She is survived by her husband Philip; a sister, Sharon Lynne Demeco of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Roberta was one of eight siblings, and was predeceased by a sister and two brothers.
