Seneca Falls –Sadie T. Kukiela, 98, formerly of Shamrock Ave., Seneca Falls, NY, died Tuesday (January 29, 2013) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY 13165.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Friday (February 1) from 4 – 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (February 2) at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, C/o St. Patrick’s Church office, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
Sadie was born in Seneca Falls, NY on December 16, 1914 the daughter of the late Antonio & Antonina DeLilla Vacca. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls and was the former owner and operator, with her late husband, Frank, of Pete and Frank’s Restaurant in Seneca Falls, which is now “Antonina’s. She, also, had worked for the former Seneca Knitting Co. of Seneca Falls. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls & the Catholic Daughters of America. Sadie loved to entertain, cook, & play cards with her family. For years Sadie had a shrine to St. Jude in the backyard of her home where she often had Masses said. She loved and cherished her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sadie was predeceased by her husband, Frank Kukiela who died in 1977, 2 brothers, Peter Vacca & his wife, Victoria & John Vacca and 2 sisters, Lena Carnevale & her husband, Leonard & Belinda Reo and her husband, William.
