Seneca Falls – Thomas L. Jones, 87, of Seneca Falls, NY, passed away Thursday (April 21, 2016) at the home of his son and daughter in law in Newark, NY.
Family and friends may attend Tom’s Graveside Service, with military honors, on Saturday (April 30) at 4:30 PM at St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls, with Reverend Roy Kiggins of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to Geneva General Hospital Dialysis Unit, in memory of his wife, Roselene Jones, 196 North St., Geneva, NY 14456 or to Lifetime Care Hospice, Newark Plaza, 800 W. Miller St., Newark, NY 14513.
Tom was born in Rochester, NY on September 30, 1928 the son of the late Thomas B. & Loretta Beech Jones. He had resided in Seneca Falls since 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Military Policeman and later during the Korean Conflict achieving the rank of Corporal. He was a graduate of LeMoyne College, Syracuse, NY, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Labor Relations He later received his law degree from the Albany School of Law, Albany, NY.
Tom initially came to Seneca Falls as an associate at Doyle and Midey Law Firm, eventually transitioning into private practice in Seneca Falls for many years. He served as Seneca County Public Defender for 24 years. He was a member of various organizations including; Seneca County Bar Association, former member of the Seneca Falls Country Club and the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce. Over the years Tom was involved in various youth sports including the Junior League Football Program.

2 daughters – Margaret Jones – Penfield, NY
Katherine (Michael) O’Herron – Bellingham, MA.
4 sons – Thomas B. (MaryKay) Jones – Newark, NY
Timothy (Missy) Jones – Seneca Falls, NY
Patrick (Jean) Jones – Victor, NY
Anthony (Alicia) Jones – Studio City, CA.
14 Grandchildren – Caitlin & Devin O’Herron, Nicole Baylard, Shawn (Kendall) Jones, Stephanie Mahoney (Kurtis Stack), Rachel & Jacob Jones, Connor, Morgan, Emma, & Rosalie Jones, Mila, Esme’, & Greta Jones.

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his wife, Roselene Maggio Jones who died June 28, 2002 & 1 sister, Virginia Ouweleen
