Seneca Falls – Vito C. Verzillo, 87, of Johnston St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Sunday (January 27, 2013) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY.
Family and friends may attend Vito’s memorial service on Wednesday (January 30) at 2 PM at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY with Reverend James Fennessy Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to Huntington Living Center, 369 E. Main St., Waterloo, NY 13165.
The Seneca Falls Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the funeral home on Wednesday (January 29) just prior to the memorial service at 2 PM.
Vito was born in Seneca Falls, NY on November 9, 1925 the son of the late Orazio & Lella Didio Verzillo.
He had resided in the Seneca Falls-Waterloo area for most of his life and had lived in Syracuse, NY for a time. He was a 1944 graduate of Mynderse Academy and had attended the S.U.N.Y. at Oswego. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Vito and his late wife, Vera, were partners in Antique’s of Distinction in Syracuse, NY for many years. He served as superintendent of the Sunday school at United Church of Christ, Syracuse, NY for 25 years. Vito played basketball for S.U.N.Y at Oswego and he was a true Syracuse University sports fan. Most of all, Vito treasured his wife, Jean, and his family and so enjoyed his time with them all.

In addition to his parents, Vito was predeceased by his first wife, Vera C. Verzillo who died March 11, 2007 and 2 brothers-in-law, Fred Felice and Edward Harding.
