Seneca Falls – Vito Delizia, 91, of South St., Seneca Falls, NY, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday (November 13, 2014) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Monday (November 17) from 12 Noon to 1 PM followed by a funeral service at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165 or to the charity of one’s choice.
Vito was born in Seneca Falls, NY on September 2, 1923 the son of the late Joseph & Vincenta Delizia. He had been employed by the former Rathskeller of Seneca Falls and used to usher and run the films at the former Strand Theater in Seneca Falls. He also had worked for a time at the former Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, NY.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle downtown till he was in his 80’s. He then began to walk downtown, where he would sit on a park bench. He taught himself to read Italian and he loved watching westerns. He once met Audie Murphy, a western star. He enjoyed making his own tools and creating his own little inventions. The most important part of Vito’s life was to honor and love his Lord and to tell others about him.

His caregivers – Carole & Steve Kemp of Seneca Falls whom he had resided with for the past 4 years.
His special 4-legged friends, Libby and Buster
In addition to his parents, Vito was predeceased by 3 sisters, Grace Vasile, Rose Delizia, & Rosalie Kreydatus
