Seneca Falls – William G. “Bill” Rutz, 72, of Stevenson St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Saturday (February 4, 2012) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY.
Family and friends may attend Bill’s Memorial Service on Saturday (February 11, 2012) at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 23 Cayuga St., Seneca Falls with Reverend Leah Ntuala, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to the Seneca Falls Library, 47 Cayuga St., Seneca Falls, NY.
Bill was born in Seneca Falls on February 1, 1940 the son of the late William and Amalie Lind Rutz. He was a life resident of Seneca Falls and was a graduate of Mynderse Academy. Bill was a well know downtown merchant who owned and operated the former Seneca Clothing Company of Seneca Falls. He was a former member of the Seneca Falls Rotary Club and a former trustee of the Seneca Falls Savings Bank. An avid golfer, he had been a member and past board member of the Seneca Falls Country Club. He was very active in the Seneca Falls Downtown Merchants. Bill enjoyed playing cards and belonging to the Seneca Duplicate Bridge Club. He, also, loved to travel, especially when it came to visiting his children and grandchildren.

His wife, Nancy Milner Rutz of Seneca Falls, whom he married on July 10, 1965
2 sons – David (Linda) Rutz – Saratoga Springs, NY
Steven (Janet) Rutz – Anacortes, Washington
5 grandchildren – Lindsay and Ashley Rutz, Luke, Matthew, and Amalie Rutz
Several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by 2 brothers, Walter and Raymond “Herky” Rutz.
