Voters in South Seneca have approved a revised school budget today after the original proposal was defeated. The original budget actually won a majority of the votes cast (432-399), but because it exceeded the state mandated property tax cap, a 60% vote was needed.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 06-14-13 at 1221 hrs deputies arrested Joseph C. Smith 33, of 429 Whiskey Hill Rd. Waterloo on a warrant from the Seneca County Family Court. The warrant was issued as Smith failed to appear for a scheduled appearance in May of 2013.

A second suspect was taken into custody after he exited the wooded area near the intersection of Cross Road and Rt. 14.
