ROMULUS — The cast, crew, student musicians, and directors of Romulus Central School’s 2012 musical production of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown garnered numerous accolades at the Stars of Tomorrow Awards Ceremony Thursday at the Auditorium Theatre in Rochester.
The awards were presented for: outstanding musical production; outstanding production crew; outstanding acting ensemble; outstanding singing ensemble; outstanding student pit orchestra; outstanding supporting actor – David Rivera; outstanding supporting actress – Marisa Rivera; outstanding lead actress – Meghan Doorty; future Stars of Tomorrow Award – Nathaniel Bauder; and Stars of Tomorrow Special Recognition Award – Olivia Brandow.
Additionally, two students received recognition from Theatre Association of New York State this year for the production. David Rivera for Meritorious Achievement in Acting and Marisa Rivera for Meritorious Achievement in Vocal Performance.
Romulus Central School District is a 14-year participant in the Stars of Tomorrow program, which is sponsored by the Rochester Broadway Theatre League.
You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown was performed in March by a cast of 7-12th grade students and presented by the Romulus Encore Society. It centered around an average day in the life of Charlie Brown, which was played by Daniel Rivera. Lucy was played by Meghan Doorty; Snoopy by David Rivera; Sally Brown by Marisa Rivera; Schroeder by Nathaniel Bauder; Yellow Bird by Olivia Brandow; and Peppermint Patty by Emily Rhone.
The show was directed and choreographed by Laura D. Feligno with music direction provided by Hilary K. Chaya. The technical director was Jeff Felice and costume mistress was Jennifer Bartlett.
